{"id":47419,"date":"2023-01-25T06:58:35","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T06:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-shots-at-drc-s-fighter-jet-violating-its-airspace-returns-to-goma\/"},"modified":"2023-01-28T09:00:53","modified_gmt":"2023-01-28T09:00:53","slug":"rwanda-shots-at-drc-s-fighter-jet-violating-its-airspace-returns-to-goma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-shots-at-drc-s-fighter-jet-violating-its-airspace-returns-to-goma\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda shots at DRC\u2019s fighter jet violating its airspace, flies back to Goma burning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This incident is a violation of Rwanda\u2019s airspace for the third time since November 2022. <\/p>\n<p>Short videos and photos shared on social media show the warplane\u2019s left wing burning and the other side of the plane with bullet holes.  <\/p>\n<p>The warplane was shot but did not crash down immediately and continued to fly until it landed at Goma airport where firefighters rushed to put out fire on the burning wing. <\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, the Government of Rwanda released a statement announcing that defensive measures were taken and warned the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) against repetitive provocations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday at 5:03 pm, a Sukhoi-25 from the DR Congo violated Rwanda airspace for the third time. Defensive measures were taken.
