{"id":47290,"date":"2022-12-29T10:26:22","date_gmt":"2022-12-29T10:26:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/parliamentarian-ernest-kamanzi-resigns\/"},"modified":"2022-12-30T12:39:10","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T12:39:10","slug":"parliamentarian-ernest-kamanzi-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/parliamentarian-ernest-kamanzi-resigns\/","title":{"rendered":"Parliamentarian Ernest Kamanzi resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vice Chairperson of the Lower House of Parliament, Sheikh Musa Fazil Harerimana has confirmed to IGIHE that Kamanzi submitted his resignation letter on Wednesday 28th December 2022 \u2018citing personal reasons\u2019.  <\/p>\n<p>However, sources reveal that his resignation comes after he was reported in a drunk-driving case.  <\/p>\n<p>Kamanzi becomes the third parliamentarian resigning in less than two months over drunk driving incidents.  <\/p>\n<p>MP Harerimana has said that leaders should model good conduct to citizens they were entrusted to represent.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNormally, parliamentarians are exemplary citizens selected to represent others.
