The latter has introduced the Lasik Eye Procedure which uses the best known \u2018Lasik\u2019 technology to correct vision problems and help people get rid of glasses as they continue their work without disruptions. <\/p>\n<p>The facility located in Kicukiro District of Kigali City is the first of its kind offering such services in Rwanda.  <\/p>\n<p>{{What is the latest technology to correct the vision?}}<\/p>\n<p>As revealed by specialist doctors from Pyramid Eye Center, when the degree is less than -9 (myopia) and than +5 (hyperopia), the entire correction can be done by LASIK.  <\/p>\n<p>During LASIK Procedure, a special type of cutting laser is used to precisely change the shape of the dome-shaped clear tissue at the front of your eye (cornea) to improve vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLASIK\u201d is an acronym that stands for \u201claser-assisted in situ keratomileusis.\u201d \u201cIn situ\u201d translates into \u201cin position\u201d or \u201cin place\u201d and \u201ckeratomileusis\u201d is the medical term for the reshaping of the cornea in your eye. <\/p>\n<p>In eyes with normal vision, the cornea bends (refracts) light precisely onto the retina at the back of the eye. But with nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) or astigmatism, the light is bent incorrectly, resulting in blurred vision.<\/p>\n<p>Glasses or contact lenses can correct vision, but reshaping the cornea itself also will provide the necessary refraction.<\/p>\n<p>The laser Procedure is popular in countries with advanced eye care services including the United States of America (USA), France, the United Kingdom (UK) and Japan among others.   <\/p>\n<p>This Procedure has been applied to over one million people across the world.<\/p>\n<p>Laser eye surgery is most appropriate for people who have a moderate degree of refractive error and no unusual vision problems.
