{"id":45910,"date":"2022-06-01T07:24:18","date_gmt":"2022-06-01T07:24:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/drc-accepts-to-release-kidnapped-rwandan-soldiers\/"},"modified":"2022-06-03T07:19:26","modified_gmt":"2022-06-03T07:19:26","slug":"drc-accepts-to-release-kidnapped-rwandan-soldiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/drc-accepts-to-release-kidnapped-rwandan-soldiers\/","title":{"rendered":"DRC accepts to release kidnapped Rwandan soldiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kidnapped soldiers of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) include Cpl Nkundabagenzi Elys\u00e9e and Pte Ntwari Gad.<\/p>\n<p>A statement released by RDF on Saturday last week, indicated that the soldiers were kidnapped on patrol following DRC\u2019s provocations where it shelled Rwandan territory. <\/p>\n<p>Sources reveal that President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o has requested Tshisekedi to release these soldiers as a symbol of willingness to settle dispute between both countries.<\/p>\n<p>It is said that DRC has responded in favour of the request. <\/p>\n<p>Following the kidnapping, FARDC announced that they had crossed into DRC and apprehended in 20 kilometers away from the border but Rwanda rejected the allegations highlighting that they were kidnapped on patrol.   <\/p>\n<p>It is said that Rwandan soldiers refrained from fighting lest the tension between both countries result into a war.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-42498 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/imageresize.jpg\" alt=\"It is said that DRC President has responded in favour of the request.
