{"id":45280,"date":"2022-02-14T14:37:36","date_gmt":"2022-02-14T14:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwandans-in-morocco-guinea-and-tunisia-celebrate-heroes-day\/"},"modified":"2022-02-14T14:48:52","modified_gmt":"2022-02-14T14:48:52","slug":"rwandans-in-morocco-guinea-and-tunisia-celebrate-heroes-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwandans-in-morocco-guinea-and-tunisia-celebrate-heroes-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwandans in Morocco, Guinea and Tunisia celebrate Heroes\u2019 Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nicolas Rwaka, the director of research in Chancellery for Heroes, National Orders and Decorations of Honor (CHENO) reminded the youth to uphold heroism in whatever they do.  <\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s Ambassador to Morocco, Zaina Nyiramatama thanked Rwanda\u2019s visionary leadership that promotes the culture of heroism which continues to play a critical role in national development.  <\/p>\n<p>He also urged the youth to stand against behaviours that can tarnish Rwanda\u2019s reputation.  <\/p>\n<p>Participants of the event who shared ideas, commended Rwandans\u2019 heroism and stressed the need for regular talks reminding them on values that should be embraced. <\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was also characterized by performances including poem recital and songs praising heroes.  <\/p>\n<p>The majority of Rwandans living in Morocco is comprised of students studying n the country through existing partnership with Rwanda.  <\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s embassy in Morocco was opened in 2020. It oversees Rwanda\u2019s interests in other countries including Tunisia, Guinea and Mauritania. <\/p>\n<p>The National Heroes&#8217; Day is celebrated on 1st February every year. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s ceremony was held under the theme \u2018 Our Heroism, Our Dignity\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>According to the law establishing the Chancellery for Heroes, National Orders and Decorations of Honor &#8220;a hero is any person who pursues objectives he\/she undertakes to obtain a special achievement for the public interest and with high proven integrity, sacrifice and noble courage in his\/her acts and who avoids being a coward in his\/her actions in very trying situations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>{{Rwandan heroes are classified into three categories namely:}}<\/p>\n<p>{{Imanzi:}} The unknown soldier and Major General Fred Gisa Rwigema.<\/p>\n<p>{{Imena:}} Mutara III Rudahigwa, Rwagasana Michel, Agathe Uwiringiyimana, Niyitegeka F\u00e9licit\u00e9 and Nyange students.<\/p>\n<p>{{Ingenzi:}} No hero was classified in this category.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-40999 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/image00001-36a62-a4e1e.jpg\" alt=\"Amb.
