Zaina Nyiramatama presents credentials to represent Rwanda in Morocco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ceremony took place at the Royal Palace in Rabat on 17th January 2022.  <\/p>\n<p>Amb. who was appointed by the cabinet meeting held on 14th December 2020 replacing Sheikh Habimana Saleh, had presented copies of credentials to Morocco\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita on 14th January 2021. <\/p>\n<p>Nyiramatama previously held different positions serving as the Head of the African Union Liaison Office in Chad and executive secretary of the National Commission for Children (NCC) of Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s embassy in Morocco was inaugurated on 15th January 2020 in Rabat, the capital of Morocco by former Rwandan Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Olivier Nduhungirehe, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita.<\/p>\n<p>Rwanda, Morocco enjoy existing relations that took formal shape after King Mohammed VI visited Rwanda in October 2016 as part of his commitment to a new African diplomacy. President Paul Kagame had also visited Morocco in June 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, both countries have signed dozens of cooperation and trade agreements, vowing to shoulder their continental responsibility in facing \u201cshared challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As both countries position themselves as continental leaders and champions of pan-Africanism and African integration, they have placed their improving diplomatic ties under the banner of \u201cresponsibility sharing\u201d and \u201cpan-African vision\u201d for the future.<\/p>\n<p>When Rwanda opened its embassy in Morocco in January of 2020, Morocco\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bouritia, described the development as a crowning achievement for Morocco\u2019s decisively Africa-focused diplomacy.<\/p>\n<p>Rwanda was among countries that supported Morocco\u2019s return to the African Union.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2020, Rwanda\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vincent Biruta visited Morocco aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.   <\/p>\n<p>Despite COVID-19 pandemic which stalled different development activities, both countries\u2019 joint projects are expected start yielding in the near future.  <\/p>\n<p>These include a pharmaceutical plant completed in Kigali Special Economic Zone and fertilizer plant under construction in Bugesera district.  <\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s ambassador to Morocco also represents the country to the Republic of Tunisia, Guinea and Mauritania.  <\/p>\n<p>The monarch also hosted other foreign envoys from the UAE, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Australia, among other countries.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-40676 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/matama.jpg\" alt=\"Ambassador Zaina Nyiramatama presenting credentials to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI. \" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{Ambassador Zaina Nyiramatama has presented credentials to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI to represent Rwanda in the country.}<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":62,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[75],"byline":[170],"hashtag":[],"class_list":["post-45147","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news","tag-homenews","byline-igihe"],"bylines":[{"id":170,"name":"IGIHE","slug":"igihe","description":"","image":{"id":0,"url":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/?s=96&d=mm&f=y&r=g","alt":"Default avatar","title":"Default avatar","caption":"","mime_type":"image\/jpeg","sizes":[]},"user_id":8}],"contributors":[{"id":170,"name":"IGIHE","slug":"igihe","description":"","image":{"id":0,"url":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/?s=96&d=mm&f=y&r=g","alt":"Default avatar","title":"Default avatar","caption":"","mime_type":"image\/jpeg","sizes":[]},"user_id":8}],"featured_image":null,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/45147","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/62"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=45147"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/45147\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=45147"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=45147"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=45147"},{"taxonomy":"byline","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/byline?post=45147"},{"taxonomy":"hashtag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/hashtag?post=45147"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
