Speaking to IGIHE; the Spokesperson of Rwanda Correctional Service, SSP Pelly Uwera Gakwaya has revealed that no one was injured during the process. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to reassure residents that there was no intruder threatening security except shooting into the air to stop escaping inmates,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Uwera warned inmates against similar attempts lest they receive tougher penalties.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe foiled inmates are subject to further investigations to make new files pinning them. There are some instances when inmates can be pardoned but the three have deprived themselves of such favor,\u201d he noted. <\/p>\n
IGIHE has learnt that two of the three inmates were undergoing trial where the court had requested life sentence over theft crimes. <\/p>\n
It is said that the suspects stormed different petrol stations, strangled workers, robbed money and Kerosene. <\/p>\n
