{"id":43443,"date":"2021-05-04T11:14:02","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T11:14:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rccdn-members-enlightened-on-international-environmental-agreements\/"},"modified":"2021-05-04T11:46:15","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T11:46:15","slug":"rccdn-members-enlightened-on-international-environmental-agreements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rccdn-members-enlightened-on-international-environmental-agreements\/","title":{"rendered":"RCCDN members enlightened on international environmental agreements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RCCDN is comprised of 63 members from non-governmental organizations involved in environment preservation efforts.  <\/p>\n<p>Members have received two-day training to deeply understand environment preservation treaties that Rwanda has ratified, their relevance and implementation plan so that they can smoothly accomplish their duties.  <\/p>\n<p>These agreements include Paris Agreement on Climate Change and The Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol   aimed at gradually reducing the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbons among others.<\/p>\n<p>The training held recently, was organized in partnership with Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA).<\/p>\n<p>The Coordinator of RCCDN Rwanda, Faustin Vuningoma explained that the trained aimed to immerse members\u2019 knowledge on international agreements to protect environment most importantly the ones ratified by Rwanda.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCapacity building is part of RCCDN responsibilities to acquaint members with deeper understanding on how to mitigate climate change.  We have identified gaps in following up discussions related to international agreements during which signatory countries discuss various topics of great significance and adopt resolutions that must be implemented in respective countries,\u201d he said.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is of great significance for members to know agreements that Rwanda has ratified so that they can bring play their role in the implementation phase.
