{"id":43386,"date":"2021-04-26T12:56:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-26T12:56:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/kagame-commissions-over-720-rdf-cadet-officers\/"},"modified":"2021-04-28T15:25:18","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T15:25:18","slug":"kagame-commissions-over-720-rdf-cadet-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/kagame-commissions-over-720-rdf-cadet-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"Kagame commissions over 700 RDF cadet officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commissioned officers have been promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was held in compliance with COVID-19 preventive measures.  <\/p>\n<p>The first group consists of 209 commissioned officers who combined military training and university studies in Social and Military Sciences, Medicine, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.  <\/p>\n<p>The second includes 506 enrolled in one year program of whom 347 were in-service soldiers while 159 were civilians before joining the military training.  <\/p>\n<p>The third group is comprised of 6 officers who completed military training from partner-countries including Belgium, Kenya and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>The Commandant of Rwanda Military Academy \u2013 Gako, Maj. Gen. Innocent Kabandana has said that it was an exhausting journey that some of them didn\u2019t complete due to various reasons.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe journey these students went through was not easy.  62 of recruits didn\u2019t complete courses due to various reasons including indiscipline, physical, mental performance and sickness,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>President Kagame has requested new officers to always remember that their main duty is to serve Rwandans that it is a heavy responsibility that should be given much relevance for RDF to continue rebuilding and contributing where necessary.   <\/p>\n<p>He commended the academy, for continuous efforts to equip recruits with required skills.    <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose who stand chance to study and get trained here should properly use acquired skills and help the school to grow further,\u201d he said.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-38340 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/commissioned_new.jpg\" alt=\"The pass-out ceremony took place in Bugesera district.
