{"id":43153,"date":"2021-03-24T08:07:24","date_gmt":"2021-03-24T08:07:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rusesabagina-boycotts-court\/"},"modified":"2021-03-26T11:10:31","modified_gmt":"2021-03-26T11:10:31","slug":"rusesabagina-boycotts-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rusesabagina-boycotts-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Rusesabagina boycotts court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the trial resumed today, Rusesabagina was not among co-accused arraigned before the court.  <\/p>\n<p>During the previous trial, Paul Rusesabagina said that he won\u2019t return to court citing zero expectation of fair trial because \u2018his rights have not been respected\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Rusesabagina who has been heard claiming that he was abducted appeared before the court requesting six months to review his dossiers. After consultations between judges, the court rejected Rusesabagina\u2019s request saying that the trial should proceed as usual.<\/p>\n<p>Following the court\u2019s decision, Rusesabagina made his objection saying, he won\u2019t return to court because his rights are not respected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to tell the court and judges that my basic rights to present my objections and fair trial have not been respected. The court failed to respect that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a result, I would like to tell the court that I don\u2019t expect justice here. That is why I will not take part of this trial again,\u201d added Rusesabagina.<\/p>\n<p>Rusesabagina\u2019s defense lawyer, Rudakemwa F\u00e9lix also said he had nothing to add to what his client said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is my employer.
