Her visit that started yesterday is aimed at gauging together the progress on preparations of the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). <\/p>\n
CHOGM was to take place last year but it has been postponed to June 2021 because COVID-19 pandemic. <\/p>\n
Before meeting with Kagame, Scotland held discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Vincent Biruta revolving around preparations of the 26th CHOGM, global matters including COVID-19 pandemic and Climate Change Action.<\/p>\n
After holding discussions, Scotland said she is delighted to be back in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

Patricia Scotland comes to Rwanda, few days after the visit by the delegation of Commonwealth envoys who commended Rwanda\u2019s progress on preparations for the upcoming CHOGM.<\/p>\n
As the World celebrated Common Wealth Day on Monday 8th March 2021, Minister Biruta reiterated Rwanda\u2019s readiness to host the upcoming CHOGM and invited guests to the meeting expected to discuss issues of global concern. <\/p>\n
