{"id":41979,"date":"2020-09-07T05:53:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T05:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/we-want-rwandans-to-be-healthy-starvation-free-president-kagame\/"},"modified":"2020-09-08T18:52:32","modified_gmt":"2020-09-08T18:52:32","slug":"we-want-rwandans-to-be-healthy-starvation-free-president-kagame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/we-want-rwandans-to-be-healthy-starvation-free-president-kagame\/","title":{"rendered":"We want Rwandans to be healthy, starvation-free &#8211; President Kagame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Kagame made the remarks on Sunday during a press meeting with the RBA where he addressed a number of issues of national importance.<\/p>\n<p>President Kagame said that over the past five months Rwanda has been successful in dealing with the COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis does not mean that it does not affect us as badly as others, but we are among the first in the world in terms of coping with this pandemic, preventing it from taking many lives,\u201d said the Head of State<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn order for us to get that position in the first place, it came from the efforts of Rwandans; it didn\u2019t just happen, it was people who did it. Yet all the economic aspects of human life were disturbed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>President Kagame said the effects of Coronavirus will affect the economy of the country and the world as a whole, stressing that the government will continue to do its utmost to protect the lives of the people and their livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to ensure that life keeps going on, that we take decisions adapting to the situation. We want Rwandans to have a better life, not to be affected by this pandemic but also not to starve.
