{"id":41824,"date":"2020-08-07T08:51:26","date_gmt":"2020-08-07T08:51:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-condoles-with-lebanon-after-beirut-explosion\/"},"modified":"2020-08-10T12:35:14","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T12:35:14","slug":"rwanda-condoles-with-lebanon-after-beirut-explosion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-condoles-with-lebanon-after-beirut-explosion\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda condoles with Lebanon after Beirut explosion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe government of Rwanda expresses its sincere condolences to the Lebanese government and to the families of the victims,\u201d the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a tweet on Wednesday, August 5. <\/p>\n<p>It is said that the explosion may have been caused by a bomb or other military explosive device, while other schools of thought say it was caused by \u201cammonium nitrate\u201d used to make fertilizers.<\/p>\n<p>Lebanese Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, said the site caught by fire contained 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate that had been stored for six years.<\/p>\n<p>Beirut\u2019s governor, Marwan Aboud, said the blast had left 300,000 homeless people. He added that the damage was estimated at between $ 3 billion and $ 5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The ammonium nitrate reactor exploded after a house in which various products were stored was engulfed in flames.
