\u201cTwo police officers have been killed. They were on patrol when gunmen shot at them and fled,\u201d a senior police officer who visited the scene said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir guns were taken \u2026 we suspect Shabaab militia,\u201d he added, referring to Somalia\u2019s Al Qaeda-linked fighters.<\/p>\n
Area police chief chief Philip Tuimur confirmed the incident but did not elaborate.<\/p>\n
Last weekend, an ambush on Kenyan police left 42 officers dead as they hunted cattle thieves in Baragoi, a remote district in Kenya\u2019s arid north. <\/p>\n
It was the deadly ever attack on the police.<\/p>\n
