{"id":41159,"date":"2020-04-06T18:34:06","date_gmt":"2020-04-06T18:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/british-pm-johnson-still-in-hospital-with\/"},"modified":"2020-04-06T18:33:59","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T18:33:59","slug":"british-pm-johnson-still-in-hospital-with","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/british-pm-johnson-still-in-hospital-with\/","title":{"rendered":"British PM Johnson still in hospital with persistent coronavirus symptoms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Johnson, who had been isolating in Downing Street after testing positive for the virus last month, was taken to hospital on Sunday night because he still had a high temperature and his doctors felt he needed additional tests.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister is doing well and will undergo routine tests on Monday but will continue to lead the government, Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019ll stay in hospital as long as he needs to do that, but I\u2019ve heard that he\u2019s doing well and I very much look forward to him being back in Number 10 as soon as possible,\u201d Jenrick said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t an emergency admission and so I certainly expect that he\u2019ll be back at Number 10 shortly,\u201d said, though he gave no time frame.<\/p>\n<p>On March 27, Johnson became the first leader of a major power to announce that he had tested positive.
