{"id":40341,"date":"2019-11-11T12:10:21","date_gmt":"2019-11-11T12:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/kagame-congratulates-dr-mayaki\/"},"modified":"2019-11-14T10:23:07","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T10:23:07","slug":"kagame-congratulates-dr-mayaki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/kagame-congratulates-dr-mayaki\/","title":{"rendered":"Kagame congratulates Dr. Mayaki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Mayaki was decorated Thursday by Emperor Naruhito, with the &#8220;Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun&#8221;, the highest distinction of the State of Japan, in recognition of his outstanding contribution in promoting friendly relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Niger as well as Japan and the African Union.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mayaki has a close relationship with Japan, where he actively participated in several meetings of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) as Prime Minister of Niger and CEO of AUDA-NEPAD. <\/p>\n<p>He made historic contributions by expanding the partnership with Japan for the development of Africa, notably through the Memorandum of Understanding signed between JICA and AUDA-NEPAD in areas of common interest, such as infrastructure and agriculture. <\/p>\n<p>President Kagame, through a Twit, said \u201cCongratulations @NEPAD_Mayaki. Fitting recognition for you personally and Nepad\u2019s work\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a real privilege to receive today the Grand Cordon insignia of the Order of the Rising Sun. I measure the honor that is reserved for me by joining the eminent personalities, Japanese, but also from many countries around the world, who have been distinguished for almost 145 years by receiving the same distinction,\u201d Dr. Mayaki declared.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun\u2019 was established in 1875 by Emperor Meiji, this order was the first decoration created by the Japanese government.
