{"id":40096,"date":"2019-09-28T14:04:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-28T14:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/630-teen-pregnancies-registered-in-rubavu-in-9\/"},"modified":"2019-09-28T22:15:19","modified_gmt":"2019-09-28T22:15:19","slug":"630-teen-pregnancies-registered-in-rubavu-in-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/630-teen-pregnancies-registered-in-rubavu-in-9\/","title":{"rendered":"630 teen pregnancies registered in Rubavu in 9 months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to figures, 630 teens were impregnated in nine months of 2019 raising the number to 3035 within three years. <\/p>\n<p>This was revealed yesterday in an executive meeting organized by the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion bringing together leaders of all district in Western Province.  <\/p>\n<p>The mayor of Rubavu district, Gilbert Habyarimana attributed the numbers to domestic conflicts and urban migration.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese cases are attributed to domestic conflicts and youth\u2019s growing number migrating to town,\u201d he said.  <\/p>\n<p>Habyarimana further stated that the latter is additional to inadequate knowledge on reproductive health.  <\/p>\n<p>He, however, explained that they have strengthened measures against the issue with an emphasis on teaching reproductive health among schools.  <\/p>\n<p>Western Province Governor, Alphonse Munyantwari said they are going to increase awareness on reproductive health and hold accountable those who impregnate teens.  <\/p>\n<p>Among others, Nyabihu district has 418 impregnated teens while Rutsiro has 404.
