{"id":40009,"date":"2019-09-11T15:14:16","date_gmt":"2019-09-11T15:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/eastern-province-governor-gives-ultimatum-on\/"},"modified":"2019-09-11T15:13:52","modified_gmt":"2019-09-11T15:13:52","slug":"eastern-province-governor-gives-ultimatum-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/eastern-province-governor-gives-ultimatum-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Eastern Province governor gives ultimatum  on school drop outs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As he spoke to local leaders in Kayonza, Ngoma and Kirehe districts on Monday during a performance evaluation meeting, he urged participants to deliver to the best of their abilities. <\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of 2019, Eastern Province recorded 15,519 students that had dropped out of school.<\/p>\n<p>Local leaders\u2019 campaign conducted later led to returning of 13,196 students back to school but whereabouts of the remaining 2,323 were not traced.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Mufulukye reminded leaders that there should be no excuses regarding children dropping out of school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are told that some students went to study elsewhere, some are undertaking professional training while some have no reasons to give. We have a week to investigate the reasons behind visiting and interrogating their parents. If it is a matter of parents stopping children from attending school, punishments await them.
