{"id":39965,"date":"2019-09-04T13:32:54","date_gmt":"2019-09-04T13:32:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/musanze-gets-new-mayor\/"},"modified":"2019-09-07T22:40:45","modified_gmt":"2019-09-07T22:40:45","slug":"musanze-gets-new-mayor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/musanze-gets-new-mayor\/","title":{"rendered":"Musanze gets new mayor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ntirenganya was elected during an extra ordinary meeting of the district\u2019s council chaired by Northern Province Governor, Gatabazi Jean Marie Vianney.<\/p>\n<p>He was installed after winning 18 of 25 votes followed by   Nkundwanabake Samson who only got the support of 7 out of 25 voters.  <\/p>\n<p>Ntirenganya explained that he will closely work with the council to create a difference.<br \/>\n \u201cI will cultivate a good working relationship with the advisory council which is set to be ae unique aspect compared to predecessors. Our performance will be characterized by decentralized leadership to fast track citizens\u2019 development and maintain the reputation of Musanze as a secondary city after Kigali,\u201d   he said.  <\/p>\n<p>The Governor of Northern Province, Gatabazi Jean Marie Vianney requested the new mayor to draw attention on citizens\u2019 concerns.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe resignation of leaders is normal when they have not fulfilled their duties. Musanze district is productive in agriculture and is a touristic hub. It is therefore saddening to see leaders failing to deliver.  For instance hearing an official beating a spouse is inhumane and we want the culprit paying for it.
