{"id":39838,"date":"2019-08-12T17:25:47","date_gmt":"2019-08-12T17:25:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/nyamagabe-embarks-on-construction-of-classrooms\/"},"modified":"2019-08-12T16:49:21","modified_gmt":"2019-08-12T16:49:21","slug":"nyamagabe-embarks-on-construction-of-classrooms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/nyamagabe-embarks-on-construction-of-classrooms\/","title":{"rendered":"Nyamagabe embarks on construction of classrooms to address accommodation challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The exercise was launched on Saturday during the celebration of the International Youth Day 2019 globally celebrated under the theme &#8220;Transforming education&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The new classrooms are set to be built in Nyabisindu village, Nyanza cell, Cyanika sector of Nyamagabe district.  <\/p>\n<p>The youth from Nyamagabe district joined residents and officials in community work to grade the plot of land where eight classrooms, 12 latrines, and administrative offices will be constructed. <\/p>\n<p>Nyamagabe district vice mayor for social affairs, Prisca Mujawayezu said that they decided to build the primary school in the area because some pupils had to walk 7 kilometers to reach the nearest school in Cyanika which resulted into school dropouts. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the new school, the longest distance will be 3 kilometers. It will inspire children to be keen on education because they will no longer walk exhausting distances,\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n<p>Figures from Nyamagabe district indicate that 2000 students had dropped out of school at the beginning of the year but some learners have since returned, leaving only about 700 out of school. <\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Bigenimana, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth requested the youth to embrace current technology in activities beneficial for them and the country as well. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are required to match education with economic needs.
