{"id":39734,"date":"2019-07-25T17:53:17","date_gmt":"2019-07-25T17:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/cooperative-members-turn-violent-stop-court\/"},"modified":"2019-07-25T17:49:54","modified_gmt":"2019-07-25T17:49:54","slug":"cooperative-members-turn-violent-stop-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/cooperative-members-turn-violent-stop-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Cooperative members turn violent, stop court bailiff from auctioning their abattoir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members turned violent today morning and forcefully sent away the court bailiff. <\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, Semajambi postponed the auctioning to 1st August 2019.<br \/>\nThe court bailiff went to auction the property without any security officials. <\/p>\n<p>On the same day, members of the cooperative filed a lawsuit against the auctioning, a court session that the bailiff never attended. <\/p>\n<p>The abattoir was reportedly completed at a cost of Rwf 372 million but heads of the cooperative later allegedly approved a payment of Rwf 435 million to building contractors that constructed the facility and signed the fraudulent document without the consent of the cooperative members.<\/p>\n<p>The management and contractors involved in the fraudulent acts were all arrested.<br \/>\nIt is said that they had forged signatures of cooperative members. <\/p>\n<p>Members complained that the court considered documents forged by their leaders.<br \/>\nBeatha Mukanoheri, the secretary of KOADU said: \u201cThe court bailiff has absented himself in the court where he was summoned so that his plan to auction the abattoir is not halted.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>Bailiff Semajambi, however, said there is no court ruling on halting the auctioning.<br \/>\n\u201cWe postpone the auctioning over residents\u2019 complaints but there is no court ruling canceling the auctioning. The auctioning is adjourned to 1st August 2019. Nothing will halt the auction.
