{"id":39730,"date":"2019-07-24T22:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-24T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/uganda-s-cmi-raids-kampala-church-arrests-over-40\/"},"modified":"2019-07-27T18:23:01","modified_gmt":"2019-07-27T18:23:01","slug":"uganda-s-cmi-raids-kampala-church-arrests-over-40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/uganda-s-cmi-raids-kampala-church-arrests-over-40\/","title":{"rendered":"Uganda\u2019s CMI raids Kampala Church, arrests over 40 Rwandans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uganda\u2019s CMI raids Kampala Church, arrests over 40 Rwandans<\/p>\n<p>About 40 Rwandan nationals have been arrested in Kibuye, a Kampala suburb in a joint operation between the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence and Police, authorities have told the Daily Monitor, Uganda based newspaper. <\/p>\n<p>The operation was conducted at an unidentified church located on the first floor of the Joinus building at Kibuye on Entebbe Road, with a membership of only Rwandan citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The UPDF soldiers first cordoned off the scene where the group was allegedly holding a meeting before ordering them out. Whoever stepped of the church was ordered to board a waiting van. <\/p>\n<p>According to Daily Monitor, the reporter could not establish where the group was held.<\/p>\n<p>Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango has confirmed the arrests and explained that police only played \u201ca supportive role\u201d in the operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe only played a supportive role.
