{"id":39234,"date":"2019-04-27T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-27T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/oxfam-rwanda-supports-maintenance-of-mutete\/"},"modified":"2019-04-27T14:58:44","modified_gmt":"2019-04-27T14:58:44","slug":"oxfam-rwanda-supports-maintenance-of-mutete","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/oxfam-rwanda-supports-maintenance-of-mutete\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxfam Rwanda supports maintenance of Mutete Genocide Memorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The memorial shelters over 1000 victims killed in former Zoko, Kavumu and Mutete sectors currently merged in Mutete. <\/p>\n<p>After receiving explanations on killings of Tutsi in the area, Oxfam Rwanda employees donated Rwf 500,000 to support the maintenance of the memorial and house built to Antoine Ntagwabira, 82, an old genocide survivor whose house was recently destroyed by the storm and donated basic domestic equipment as well.  <\/p>\n<p>Oxfam Rwanda Country Director, Alice Anukur Uwase said it is their responsibility to contribute to the resilience of the country especially supporting genocide survivors. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOxfam has been working with the Government of Rwanda to uplift Rwandans livelihoods especially those affected by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
