{"id":39233,"date":"2019-04-27T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-04-27T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwandans-in-turkey-commemorate\/"},"modified":"2019-04-27T14:44:57","modified_gmt":"2019-04-27T14:44:57","slug":"rwandans-in-turkey-commemorate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwandans-in-turkey-commemorate\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwandans in Turkey commemorate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The commemoration held in Sel\u00e7uk University on 22nd April 2019 was organized by Rwandan diaspora in Turkey, Sel\u00e7uk University and Rwanda\u2019s embassy in Turkey. <\/p>\n<p>The representative of the Rwandan community in Turkey, Ibrahim Uwihoreye shared with participants Rwanda\u2019s dark history that led to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. <\/p>\n<p>He took them through the preparation and execution of genocide which took lives of over 1 million Tutsi within three months and Rwanda\u2019s resilience process.<\/p>\n<p>Uwihoreye explained that Rwanda has become resilient and witnessed considerable transformations. <\/p>\n<p>He urged the youth to work together to prevent reoccurrence of what happened. <\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s ambassador to Turkey, Williams Nkurunziza lauded those who joined Rwandans for the commemoration event and warned against hate politics and the culture of impunity which led to genocide.  <\/p>\n<p>Amb.
