{"id":39038,"date":"2019-03-26T12:25:29","date_gmt":"2019-03-26T12:25:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/bank-of-kigali-gets-rwf-30-billion-credit-to\/"},"modified":"2019-03-26T12:25:06","modified_gmt":"2019-03-26T12:25:06","slug":"bank-of-kigali-gets-rwf-30-billion-credit-to","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/bank-of-kigali-gets-rwf-30-billion-credit-to\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank of Kigali gets Rwf 30 billion credit to finance SMEs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The deal was signed yesterday at Kigali Convention Centre on the sidelines of the<br \/>\nAfrica CEO Forum bringing together business leaders and heads of states. <\/p>\n<p>The CEO of BK, Dr Diane Karusisi explained that the credit comes in handy and will be utilized to support private sector in Rwanda especially SMEs involved in energy,<br \/>\nmanufacturing and trade, agriculture, transport and tourism sectors. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe the credit will reach beneficiaries soon and enable SMEs to play a key role in transformation of national economy,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Karusisi said the credit will enable the bank to maintain affordable interest rate. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the interest rate, the cost will be determined by the levels of risk of the various<br \/>\nprojects to be financed. The interest rate has been going down overtime. We believe the credit will enable us to keep reduced interest rates for private sector,\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n<p>Ambroise Fayolle, the Vice President of the European Investment Bank expressed<br \/>\noptimism in good use of credit to expand SMEs businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe finance projects matching EU program. Intervening in the development of SMEs in<br \/>\nAfrica is one of EU foundational goals.
