{"id":38110,"date":"2018-08-31T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-08-31T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/brd-acquires-5-million-for-lending\/"},"modified":"2018-09-01T21:05:45","modified_gmt":"2018-09-01T21:05:45","slug":"brd-acquires-5-million-for-lending","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/brd-acquires-5-million-for-lending\/","title":{"rendered":"BRD acquires $5 million for lending"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The signing was held Friday in Kigali between BRD CEO Eric Rutabana and BDEGL Managing Director Emmanuel Ntaganda. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a continuation of a fruitful collaboration that started three years ago between the two financial institutions,\u201d said Rutabana.<\/p>\n<p>BRD will repay the loan with the interest of 5% in the next five years but the period can be extended to 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Rutabana said the loan will be used for financing farming and construction of affordable housing projects. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ntaganda said BDEGL is pleased to keep working with BRD as it used well the previous loans and the fact that Rwanda has a firm economy.  <\/p>\n<p>For the last three years, BRD registered strong support from BDEGL with two lines of credit worth $8 million.<\/p>\n<p>BDEGL was founded in 1980 with the mission of supporting the development of Rwanda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n<p>Each of Rwanda and Burundi has 18% shares while DRC has 4%.
