He has told IGIHE that they have waited for long without being expropriated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not allowed to use our land for our projects and the district is not paying us compensation. We cannot even sell it (land) to any other client because the district did the valuation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The land is located in Gakenke Sector. The sector\u2019s Executive Secretary F\u00e9licien Cyubahiro, confirmed that plots\u2019 owners are not allowed to do lasting projects like developing houses or growing crops that take longer than 120 days to be harvested. <\/p>\n<p>This is because, he said, the plots owners can be compensated anytime<\/p>\n<p>The district\u2019s engineer Valens Mpabanzi says the expropriation has been delayed by lack of required documents on the side of the land owners. <\/p>\n<p>He said the lists are now ready for all meeting the requirements to be paid not later than one week. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first group\u2019s payroll has been done for them to receive payment by this week.\u201d<br \/>\nMpabanzi added the 22 will be compensated in two phases. Phase one is in the first part of 2018\/2019 fiscal year running from July to December.
