Currently, some residents of Nyamagabe District are afraid of a new famine named \u201cKonoshi\u201d saying that it would spread in the whole District if no measures taken.<\/p>\n
However, District Authorities deny the developments assuring IGIHE that there are no devastating effects of such famine.<\/p>\n
Mukarwego Umuhoza Immacul\u00e9e, the Vice Mayor in charge of Economics and Development of Nyamagabe District has said that citizens must not fear due to the fact that the district is doing everything to avoid any famine in the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey hurriedly named a \u2018child\u2019(famine) which doesn\u2019t exist. We are sure that \u201cKonoshi\u201d doesn\u2019t exist and it will not come to our District\u201d Mukarwego said.<\/p>\n
She pointed out that in some sectors of the District has been a problem of lack of rain and other sectors devastated by flooding which destroying crops. <\/p>\n
