The appointment comes three weeks prior to Amavubi match against Ivory Coast for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. <\/p>\n

Mashami who coached Rwanda\u2019s top league clubs such as APR FC and Bugesera FC, will be officially approved today, after signing his one-year renewable agreement. <\/p>\n

Since 2010, Amavubi has seen over 10 head coaches with five being foreigners whose stay was longer than any local coaches such as Eric Nshimiyimana and Jimmy Mulisa who were fired in their first year at the helm<\/p>\n

As for Serbian Coach Milutin Sredojevic who trained Amavubi from 2011-2013 or Johnny McKinstry who coached between 2015\u20132016 or even Antoine Hey, all came with huge and similar agendas such as bringing the African Cup of Nations (CAN) to Rwanda or winning the CECAFA, promises they all failed to deliver.<\/p>\n

An enormous task awaits Mashami, considering that his appointment has come at the time Amavubi readies to host Ivory Coast in September 9 qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.<\/p>\n

The match is expected to be ferocious as Ivory Coast has already lost its first game against Guinea and will be looking for a win of the second match against Rwanda. <\/p>\n

Mashami takes over with Rwanda being the last in group (H) of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualification tournament. The group also consists of Ivory Coast, Guinea, and Central African Republic. <\/p>\n

Mashami, who is rated among the best local football coaches received a Confederation of African Football (CAF) A Coaching license last year, together with 11 others on the continent. <\/p>\n
