The incident took place last night at Kagoma Village, Shyembe Cell of Maraba Sector.<\/p>\n
The suspects shot dead after attacking the camp guards with machetes leaving three with injuries.<\/p>\n
The Police Spokesperson in Southern Region, CIP Emmanuel Kayigi told IGIHE that one guard informed security operatives and night patrol that immediately intervened.<\/p>\n
On arrival, according to Kayigi, thieves continued to resist by fighting security officers back as well as trying to escape.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey cut and injured three guards, but another guard who they did not see informed security officers. People and community night patrols surrounded them. They had packed five barrels, cement and iron; their target was to steal tamping machines,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
