{"id":37861,"date":"2018-07-13T17:29:45","date_gmt":"2018-07-13T17:29:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/kagame-commissions-180-rdf-officer-cadets\/"},"modified":"2018-07-17T16:21:02","modified_gmt":"2018-07-17T16:21:02","slug":"kagame-commissions-180-rdf-officer-cadets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/kagame-commissions-180-rdf-officer-cadets\/","title":{"rendered":"Kagame commissions 180 RDF officer cadets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Speaking at the event on Friday, Kagame congratulated new Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) Officers who successfully completely the training adding that those who join the force are trained to face the challenges of the times including unexpected ones.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cYou are given the training and knowledge to protect the sovereignty of our nation, to fight wars and keep Rwandans safe. It is an important responsibility,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that officers can end their career without going to the battlefield, but their responsibilities in the country continue.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the army is not trained for starting wars, but to fight them back when others have launched them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRDF is trained and prepared to fight wars but not to start them with others. But if others make us their problem and choose to start a war with us, that is when we use judgment, determination and training to fight and finish it for them,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of State told new officers to be proud of their profession adding that it will help them build the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe profession you have chosen is a great one. One you should be proud of. You can build your country and yourself the way the country and you deserve,\u201d Kagame added.<\/p>\n<p>The Training Commandant, Lt. Col.
