{"id":37771,"date":"2018-06-26T15:56:13","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T15:56:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/new-muslim-sheikhs-tasked-to-fight-radicalism\/"},"modified":"2018-06-26T15:56:06","modified_gmt":"2018-06-26T15:56:06","slug":"new-muslim-sheikhs-tasked-to-fight-radicalism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/new-muslim-sheikhs-tasked-to-fight-radicalism\/","title":{"rendered":"New Muslim Sheikhs tasked to fight radicalism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The cohort graduated at Al Hidaayat Islamic Institute, Nyarugenge District.<\/p>\n<p>Made up of 22 men and three women, the cohort graduated after six years of intensive Islamic religious studies.<\/p>\n<p>During the graduation ceremony on Sunday, the Vice-secretary of Rwanda Muslim Community (RMC), Sheikh Saleh Nshimiyimana, requested the new Sheikhs to spread Islam and change the image of perceiving Islam as a radical faith. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe request you to avoid radical beliefs but instead help restore good image of Islam in society. We want you to help address a challenge where people think that Islam is a terror religion which is not our mission,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He requested them to demonstrate discipline so that the community learns from them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to work closely with parents and families and tell them that a Islam should not have certain  blemish.
