{"id":37652,"date":"2018-06-06T10:27:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-06T10:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/agaciro-ranked-second-in-africa-s-sovereign\/"},"modified":"2018-06-06T12:39:22","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T12:39:22","slug":"agaciro-ranked-second-in-africa-s-sovereign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/agaciro-ranked-second-in-africa-s-sovereign\/","title":{"rendered":"Agaciro ranked second in Africa\u2019s sovereign wealth funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The African Sovereign Wealth Funds Index 2018 was compiled by Afrochampions in collaboration with Kofidants.<\/p>\n<p>The AfroChampions Initiative is a set of innovative public-private partnerships and flagship programs designed to galvanize African resources and institutions to support the emergence and success of African private sector multinational champions in the regional and global spheres. <\/p>\n<p>Kofidants is a diversified international Advisory Firm supporting companies, governments and international organizations to achieve impact across Africa and other global regions.<\/p>\n<p>The index shows that Rwanda\u2019s Agaciro scored 62,24% after Nigeria\u2019s sovereign wealth fund which scored 62,49%.<\/p>\n<p>The ranking of African SWFs was based on different indicators including, Governance and Public Disclosure, Size of Fund, Domestic Investment Mandate, Source of Funding (Diversification of Sources), Financial Performance, Economic Impact and Sustainability .<\/p>\n<p>The index indicates that 12 sovereign wealth funds were ranked.<\/p>\n<p>Agaciro Development Fund Chief Finance Officer, Patrick Marara Shyaka commented that the index shows efforts that have been invested to develop the fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you don\u2019t have measurements, you cannot identify your performance. The index helps to note whether our efforts and that of partners have impacts. Being ranked second at first time means good impact, but we still have far to go,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Agaciro Development Fund currently hold a portfolio of Rwf49,6 billion under management.
