This was noted by Scholars who were speaking on Sunday in Kigali during a Caf\u00e9 Litteraire session that was organized by the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG).<\/p>\n

The event that was organized in line with the 24th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, was graced by the First Lady, Mrs Jeannette Kagame.<\/p>\n

Officiating the event, Mrs Jeannette Kagame, said that Caf\u00e9 Litt\u00e9raire sessions are crucial for broadening knowledge and encouraged the audience to continue reading about different works on history.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a fan of these Caf\u00e9 Litt\u00e9raire sessions because they broaden our horizons as readers, and also because I find it essential to encourage the organizers to continue this activity that enriches the cultural and intellectual life of our country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She also introduced the panelists that were to lead the session mainly CNLG\u2019s Executive Secretary Jean Damasc\u00e8ne Bizimana, Rwandan Belgian author Albert Toch, and Andr\u00e9 Twahirwa.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9 Twahirwa insisted on the importance of using the appropriate and right words while speaking on the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis and commended UN’s General Assembly ‘s move that designated April 7 as the \u2018International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

“The UN\u2019s General Assembly that designated April 7 as the \u2018International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, solved previous descriptions of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi as \u2018the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda\u2019, he said <\/p>\n

Mr Twahirwa also said that Rwandans should learn to rely on themselves because \u201cIf the International community ignored the facts once, they would be able to it twice.\u201d
\nAccording to the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for the Fight against the Genocide (CNLG), Dr Jean Damasc\u00e8ne Bizimana, there was a need for continued education of the youth about their history so to prevent them from Ignorance and Genocide negation. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe must continue to teach Rwandan youngsters about their history so that they can understand how the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis ended up happening,\u201d Bizimana said.<\/p>\n
