{"id":37467,"date":"2018-05-12T14:55:03","date_gmt":"2018-05-12T14:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/take-lead-in-fighting-genocide-ideology-kabarebe\/"},"modified":"2018-05-15T15:44:11","modified_gmt":"2018-05-15T15:44:11","slug":"take-lead-in-fighting-genocide-ideology-kabarebe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/take-lead-in-fighting-genocide-ideology-kabarebe\/","title":{"rendered":"Take lead in fighting genocide ideology\u2014Kabarebe tells youth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kabarebe was speaking in Kigali yesterday at a commemoration event organised to remember youth who were slain during the genocide.<\/p>\n<p>He said that during the liberation struggle, former Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) hadn\u2019t any form of discrimination as their ambition was to save and unite all Rwandans.<\/p>\n<p>He said that their spirit was so different from that of the then government which taught the Hutu ethnic group to hate theTutsi, the hatered that led to the genocide.<\/p>\n<p>Noting that the majority of former RPA was youth and stopped the genocide, Kabarebe said that today&#8217;s youth should learn from them and strive to sustain the progress the country has attained.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cYou should not be satisfied and assume that everything is in place, having had genocide that took lives of more than a million in 100 days is not an issue to be simplified.
