{"id":37447,"date":"2018-05-09T10:32:17","date_gmt":"2018-05-09T10:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-japan-sign-ict-promotion-cooperation-deal\/"},"modified":"2018-05-11T12:38:54","modified_gmt":"2018-05-11T12:38:54","slug":"rwanda-japan-sign-ict-promotion-cooperation-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-japan-sign-ict-promotion-cooperation-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda, Japan sign ICT promotion cooperation deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The signing ceremony took place yesterday in Kigali on the sidelines of Transform Africa Summit 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Under the cooperation, both governments hope to promote knowledge sharing in the areas of innovative technologies, services and applications. <\/p>\n<p>The expectations will be achieved through exchanging experts, professionals, delegations, and visits. <\/p>\n<p>These activities are expected to strengthen relationships between governmental agencies, industrial sectors, and academic organizations of both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Minister of Information Technology and Communications, Jean de Dieu Rurangirwa stressed on the benefit of the cooperation saying that it will help the Rwanda cope up with the World\u2019s ICT development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe signing of this agreement is going to beneficial for both of the countries: there will be sharing of various aspects in the field of ICT. Technology has been impacting lives of our people and the whole world. Our country has embraced it as a drive for quick development. Collaborating with other countries is a better way to share and learn from each other to cope up with the world\u2019s ICT development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Japanese Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Masahiko Tominaga said that said that the cooperation is a landmark in the history of cooperation between both countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe next Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) will be held in 2019. This memorandum is a landmark in the history of cooperation between Rwanda and Japan. Japan continues to work on solving various issues in Africa by utilizing high quality ICT infrastructure and utilizations,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event, the Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda, Takayuki Miyashita said that ICT is one of the most important areas between both countries.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cICT sector is one of the most important areas for the cooperation between Japan and Rwanda.
