{"id":37366,"date":"2018-04-24T17:31:42","date_gmt":"2018-04-24T17:31:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rainstorms-kill-19\/"},"modified":"2018-04-26T14:52:37","modified_gmt":"2018-04-26T14:52:37","slug":"rainstorms-kill-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rainstorms-kill-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Rainstorms kill 19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MIDIMAR says that 56 hectares of crops were damaged, among them 45 in Gatsibo and eleven in Nyabihu.<\/p>\n<p>Also 48 houses were damaged in Rwamagana District as 31 houses and one road were damaged in Nyabihu District.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to IGIHE, the Recovery and Rehabilitation Officer at MIDIMAR, Isabelle Mucyowera  said that a majority of the  deceased died as a result of houses that collapsed on them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe landslides hit houses which collapsed on them. One person from Gasabo District is still missing,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>Rains also caused floods in Districts of Nyabihu and Bugesera, blocked roads and interrupted traffic. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the Media while attending the burial of the deceased in Jabana Sector of Gasabo District, MIDIMAR Minister, Jeanne d\u2019Arc  Debonheur urged people to relocate from high risk zones and seek safe shelters.
