{"id":36909,"date":"2018-02-02T09:03:11","date_gmt":"2018-02-02T09:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-china-discuss-kigali-bugera-airport-road\/"},"modified":"2018-02-02T09:01:26","modified_gmt":"2018-02-02T09:01:26","slug":"rwanda-china-discuss-kigali-bugera-airport-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-china-discuss-kigali-bugera-airport-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda, China discuss Kigali-Bugera Airport road expansion financing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Infrastructure, James Musoni recently said that Rwanda and China are discussing ways China could help in expanding the road that will link Kigali with the Airport.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe are discussing the expansion of this road from Kicukiro to the Airport, we want to ease the traffic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trade Advisor in the Embassy of China in Rwanda, Wang Jiaxin told IGIHE that China requested Rwanda to draft the project and China is prepared to finance it.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe requested our Rwandan counterparts to prepare the project and hand us the loan request and other related documents so that the financing process can start. A step has been made,\u201d said Jiaxin.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThings will depend on the study that will be conducted, but today I cannot give you the last answer as it is a big project that will require officials in China to decide on it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Bugesera Airport is being constructed by Mota-Engil Africa and the first phase will be completed by December this year at a budget of USD418 million.
