The Cabinet Meeting started by wishing His Excellency the President of the Republic, Paul KAGAME, a Happy New Year 2018. His Excellency, in turn, wished Cabinet Members New Year 2018 full of Peace and Prosperity. <\/p>\n
He welcomed the new Cabinet Members, namely Dr. Eugene Mutimura and Mr. Jean de Dieu Rurangirwa, Minister of Education and Minister of Information, Technology and Communication, respectively. He wished them every success in their duties. <\/p>\n
Pursuant to the powers conferred upon him by the laws, His Excellency the President of the Republic informed the Cabinet Meeting that he granted mercy to 18 youth who were serving their respective sentences in Nyagatare Prison and who displayed good behavior and passed national examinations with very high grades. <\/p>\n
The Cabinet Meeting approved the Ministerial Order granting release on parole to 392 inmates who have fulfilled legal requirements. <\/p>\n
