{"id":36434,"date":"2017-12-05T20:32:25","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T20:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-heads-un-committee-on-security-questions\/"},"modified":"2017-12-06T21:46:44","modified_gmt":"2017-12-06T21:46:44","slug":"rwanda-heads-un-committee-on-security-questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-heads-un-committee-on-security-questions\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda heads UN committee on security questions in Central Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The handover ceremony took place on Tuesday in the 45th conference of the committee that is taking place in Kigali.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee brings together Central African Countries every six months to seek ways on how countries could stop the proliferation of weapons for sustainable security that would lead to development. <\/p>\n<p>The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Community Affairs, Jean Claude Nikobisanzwe said being given such responsibilities is a sign of trust that partner countries have in Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is quite interesting to receive these responsibilities; they came during the time Rwanda prepares to head the African Union Commission. We shall combine those efforts by cooperating with partner countries to be able seek sustainable peace, be in Central African countries or in the whole of Africa,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Nikobisanzwe said that the conference will focus on security issues in the Central African Republic where insecurity continues to rise due to armed rebels from across the country.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThey will also discuss how to fight terror groups like Boko Haram because it brings insurgencies in Central African Countries especially in Cameroon, Nigeria and Chad.
