{"id":36407,"date":"2017-12-01T16:55:53","date_gmt":"2017-12-01T16:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/there-is-scarcity-of-qualified-employees-on\/"},"modified":"2017-12-04T16:49:36","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T16:49:36","slug":"there-is-scarcity-of-qualified-employees-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/there-is-scarcity-of-qualified-employees-on\/","title":{"rendered":"There is scarcity of qualified employees on Rwanda\u2019s job market \u2013Premier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Ngirente was speaking this Friday while presenting \u2018Rwanda\u2019s education sector programmes\u2019 to both chambers of the parliament.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 World Economic Forum report dubbed \u2018Global Human Capital Report\u2019 revealed that only 62% of people from across the World are qualified on the job market. The report shows that 38% have unexploited talents.  <\/p>\n<p>In Rwanda, Ngirente said that 39% of people with employment are not qualified for the job market.<\/p>\n<p>{{Gaps per sector}}<\/p>\n<p>In agriculture, tea plantation, value addition and processing, only 2,500 employees are qualified yet the sector needs a minimum of 7,000. The sector will need 9,000 in 2020 and 12,000 employees in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Only 2,657 are qualified in coffee farming and processing out of 3,687 needed by 2017. People qualified for horticulture are 39 individuals out of 528 needed by 2017.<\/p>\n<p>In mining and mineral processing, only 13,000 are people qualified out of 23,900 needed by today.<\/p>\n<p>In hospitality, only 41,000 are qualified, whereas a total of 82,400 will be needed by 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In dairy processing, 76% of people in the sector are not qualified, the reason why only 10% of all milk production is processed.
