{"id":36345,"date":"2017-11-23T10:52:04","date_gmt":"2017-11-23T10:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/visiting-ethiopian-delegation-commends-rwanda-s\/"},"modified":"2017-11-27T12:30:26","modified_gmt":"2017-11-27T12:30:26","slug":"visiting-ethiopian-delegation-commends-rwanda-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/visiting-ethiopian-delegation-commends-rwanda-s\/","title":{"rendered":"Visiting Ethiopian delegation commends Rwanda\u2019s anti-GBV programmes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The eight-man delegation  led by the Minister of Women and Children Promotion in Ethiopia, Demitu Hambisa Bonsa, has visited Isange One Stop Center, Kacyiru and Gahaya Links, a Rwandan handicraft company dedicated to women&#8217;s economic empowerment through entrepreneurship. <\/p>\n<p>After being briefed about services provided by Isange One Stop Center, Minister Hambisa said that they learnt a lot that they believe could help their country in promoting lives of women and children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have come to learn from Isange One Stop Center and other programmes aimed at fighting against gender based violence. We have seen how different problems are being solved through counseling and other support for a victim of gender based violence. Our country has started this move, but we are yet to align them. We have learnt how Police partner with different institutions in fighting against gender based violence\u201d said Hambisa.<\/p>\n<p>Hambisa said that Rwanda is a global model in fighting against violence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRwanda is a good model for many African countries in terms of gender promotion and children\u2019s rights protection. We believe that Rwanda is a country to learn from towards success,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>She said that in Ethiopia, lives of women and children are hampered with early marriages, rape and family violence among others.
