{"id":35887,"date":"2017-09-22T14:23:09","date_gmt":"2017-09-22T14:23:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/unhcr-officials-commend-isange-one-stop-center\/"},"modified":"2017-09-22T14:22:12","modified_gmt":"2017-09-22T14:22:12","slug":"unhcr-officials-commend-isange-one-stop-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/unhcr-officials-commend-isange-one-stop-center\/","title":{"rendered":"UNHCR officials commend Isange one stop center services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The officials from thirteen francophone African countries are in Rwanda for a five-day familiarization tour and to learn more about Rwanda\u2019s progress in the field of child protection and anti-GBV initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>According to Karen Whiting, the UNHCR senior advisor on child protection, the delegation opted to visit the centre to learn more about its operations while sharing knowledge with \u201cbest practices in the area of anti-GBV services and victims\u2019 rehabilitations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe and encouraged that the Isange one stop centre model should be duplicated by all countries especially in rehabilitating refuges affected by violence,\u201d Whiting said.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Jean D\u2019arc Mukandahiro, the director of Isange centres, who received the delegation, gave them a guided tour to all sections of the facility while explaining its relevance in victims\u2019 rehabilitation and legal support.<\/p>\n<p>CIP Mukandahiro explained that the center also operates a free phone hotline for help, protection from further violence, investigation of crimes, medical and psycho-social care and support and collection of forensic evidence.<\/p>\n<p>The Isange One Stop Center \u2013 which means feel welcome in Kinyarwanda &#8211;
