{Under 20 Rwanda Handball team is off to a good note after winning the opening game in the ongoing 2017 Africa Handball Championship.}<\/p>\n
Rwanda beat Madagascar by 35-24 points in the opener to register the first victory at Amadou Barry Stadium in Dakar, Senegal<\/p>\n
Antoine Ntabanganyimana\u2019s team were leading into the half time by 18-9. Madagascar improved after the break to narrow the gap but Rwandan boys were good going to seal the second half by a 17-5 victory.<\/p>\n
In the next game, Ntabanganyimana and his side will take on neighbors DR Congo on Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm. A win will see them through to the semis.
\nAntoine Ntabanganyimana\u2019s boys looked sharper from the onset compared, making less defensive mistakes and very fast in the attack to go into half-time with an 18-9 lead.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Benin devastated Ethiopia by 47-27<\/p>\n
Next up for Rwanda is a clash against the neighbors Democratic Republic of Congo on Wednesday evening, starting at 8 pm. Should Rwanda win against DR Congo, they will be the first team through to semi-finals.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, Rwanda will face hosts Senegal in what is expected a be thriller.
\nRwanda is placed in Pool A alongside Senegal, Madagascar and DR Congo. The top teams from Pool A will advance to the semi\u2019s to be played on Friday against the top two from Pool B that is composed of Benin, Ethiopia, and Mozambique.<\/p>\n
