{"id":35414,"date":"2017-07-13T16:10:47","date_gmt":"2017-07-13T16:10:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/senate-confirms-cyanzayire-s-five-year-term-as\/"},"modified":"2017-07-14T12:57:36","modified_gmt":"2017-07-14T12:57:36","slug":"senate-confirms-cyanzayire-s-five-year-term-as","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/senate-confirms-cyanzayire-s-five-year-term-as\/","title":{"rendered":"Senate confirms Cyanzayire\u2019s five-year term as Chief Ombudsman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Senate on Wednesday confirmed extension of a contract for Ms Aloysie Cyanzayire to serve another five-year term as the Chief Ombudsman, while Aim\u00e9, Bosenibamwe was appointed as Director of the National Rehabilitation Service (NRS).<br \/>\n}<\/p>\n<p>The plenary session presided over by the Committee on Political Affairs and Good Governance chaired by Senator Jean Nepomusc\u00e8ne Sindikubwabo approved Cyanzayire reappointment basing on her past competitive performance in the same office.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCyanzayire is capable and meets the needs of the office given her record as head of the same office. She has the experience, and we considered the work she has done during her last term in office. The commission believes Cyanzayire fits in   this position,\u201d Sindikubwabo said. <\/p>\n<p>About Bosenibamwe, the commission said that after holding a discussion with the newly established (NRS) it was approved that former Governor of the Northern Province is capable of leading the new institution to realize its objectives. <\/p>\n<p>Senator Sindikubwabo further said that both Cynazayire and Bosenibamwe are fit for these positions as proposed by the cabinet.  The Ombudsman has a five-year term limit in office and deputies have four but both can be re-appointed for another one term.<br \/>\nCyanzayire was appointe d in 2012 replacing Tito Rutaremera who became a Senator.
