{"id":35105,"date":"2017-06-12T17:42:57","date_gmt":"2017-06-12T17:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/dr-habineza-mwenedata-register-as-presidential\/"},"modified":"2017-06-14T12:41:50","modified_gmt":"2017-06-14T12:41:50","slug":"dr-habineza-mwenedata-register-as-presidential","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/dr-habineza-mwenedata-register-as-presidential\/","title":{"rendered":"Presidential nominations commence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has received candidature credentials  from Dr Frank Habineza and Mwenedata Gilbert for presidential race in the build up to the elections due in August 2017.}<\/p>\n<p>Dr Habineza was accompanied by members from his party to NEC headquarters in Kimihurura. He presented birth certificate, national identity card, a document proving he has handed back the second nationality, habitation certificate among others as required by the law. <\/p>\n<p>NEC chairman Professor Kalisa Mbanda who verified  the documents advised Dr Habineza to include a photocopy of the voters\u2019 card which was missing. <\/p>\n<p>After the submission,  Dr Habineza told the media that their party has big chances  of winning the August presidential vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur political party, established in 2009, strives for political transformations in Rwanda. We have over 51% chances of winning elections,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe are going to put emphasis on mobilization and raising funds for proper preparations.  The most challenging issue was submission of the credentials for candidacy. We are now to concentrate on mobilizing our members to be active in campaigns,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>Mwenedata Gilbert also got nominated  as an independent candidate. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe have experienced hurdles while soliciting 600 signatures, getting 12 from each district.
