{"id":34826,"date":"2017-05-27T11:38:02","date_gmt":"2017-05-27T11:38:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/you-can-reduce-your-risk-of-developing-liver\/"},"modified":"2017-05-27T11:31:31","modified_gmt":"2017-05-27T11:31:31","slug":"you-can-reduce-your-risk-of-developing-liver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/you-can-reduce-your-risk-of-developing-liver\/","title":{"rendered":"You can reduce your risk of developing liver cancer if you do this daily"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{A research published in the journal BMJ Open suggests drinking five cups of coffee a day reduces your risk of developing liver cancer by up to 50%.}<\/p>\n<p>According to researchers from Southampton and Edinburgh universities, drinking a cup of coffee  daily reduces your risk of developing liver cancer by 20%.<\/p>\n<p>Drinking two cups of coffee a day lowers your risk by 35% while five cups cuts your risk of developing liver cancer by 50%.<\/p>\n<p>To arrive at this conclusion, the researchers examined data from 26 studies involving more than 2.25 million participants.<\/p>\n<p>Lead researcher Dr Oliver Kennedy, from the University of Southampton said as quoted on Daily Mail: \u201cCoffee is widely believed to possess a range of health benefits and these latest findings suggest it could have a significant effect on liver cancer risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not suggesting that everyone should start drinking five cups of coffee a day though. There needs to be more investigation into the potential harms of high coffee-caffeine intake and there is evidence it should be avoided in certain groups such as pregnant women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNevertheless, our findings are an important development given the increasing evidence of HCC globally and its poor prognosis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Professor Peter Hayes, of the University of Edinburgh, added: \u201cWe have shown that coffee reduces cirrhosis and also liver cancer in a dose-dependent manner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoffee has also been reported to reduce the risk of death from many other causes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur research adds to the evidence that, in moderation, coffee can be a wonderful natural medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Source:Elcrema<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{A research published in the journal BMJ Open suggests drinking five cups of coffee a day reduces your risk of developing liver cancer by up to 50%.} According to researchers from Southampton and Edinburgh universities, drinking a cup of coffee daily reduces your risk of developing liver cancer by 20%.
