{"id":34713,"date":"2017-05-22T15:25:21","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T15:25:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/zambia-s-new-national-strip-unveiled\/"},"modified":"2017-05-22T15:25:44","modified_gmt":"2017-05-22T15:25:44","slug":"zambia-s-new-national-strip-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/zambia-s-new-national-strip-unveiled\/","title":{"rendered":"Zambia&#8217;s new national strip unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Zambia have unveiled a new kit ahead of their 2018 World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup qualifying campaigns.}<\/p>\n<p>The future is clearly orange for the country&#8217;s national senior and junior teams as the all-green strip has been discarded.<\/p>\n<p>The new kit was used for the first time in the under-20 side&#8217;s 2-0 win over Portugal at the Fifa World Cup in South Korea on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Ponga Liwewe, secretary general of the Football Association of Zambia said the deal signed with Singapore-based kit suppliers Mafro is worth $200,000 over two years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The decision to engage Mafro as a kit supplier of our national team is based on Mafro&#8217;s successful global partnership with various clubs and national sides,&#8221; Liwewe said in a statement<\/p>\n<p>Zambia has not had a kit supplier since 2014 when the contract with US sportswear behemoth Nike expired.<\/p>\n<p>Mafro are no strangers to the Zambian football scene as they also supply kit for local Super Division side Power Dynamos.<\/p>\n<p>Mafro has also signed a three-year deal to supply kit for Kenya&#8217;s national teams.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-20199 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/_96157203_zambiakit.jpg\" alt=\"The aptly named Fashion Sakala wearing the new kit\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Source:BBC <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{Zambia have unveiled a new kit ahead of their 2018 World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup qualifying campaigns.} The future is clearly orange for the country&#8217;s national senior and junior teams as the all-green strip has been discarded.
