{"id":34253,"date":"2017-04-29T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-29T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-ethiopia-sign-11-bilateral-agreements\/"},"modified":"2017-05-02T07:52:38","modified_gmt":"2017-05-02T07:52:38","slug":"rwanda-ethiopia-sign-11-bilateral-agreements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-ethiopia-sign-11-bilateral-agreements\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda-Ethiopia sign 11 bilateral agreements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Rwanda and Ethiopia have signed 11 bilateral agreements meant to further strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.}<\/p>\n<p>President Paul Kagame and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, who is on a three-day state visit to Rwanda, witnessed the signing ceremony, which took place at Urugwiro Village in Kigali City.<\/p>\n<p>The bilateral agreements signed are in the areas of: <\/p>\n<p>Extradition Treaty<br \/>\nMutual Legal Assistance<br \/>\nCommunication, Information and Media<br \/>\nYouth and Sports<br \/>\nTourism, Health<br \/>\nEducation, Culture<br \/>\nCooperation in Correctional Services<br \/>\nGender, Women and Children and<br \/>\nWater resources management<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a joint press conference after the signing, President Kagame pointed out that the cooperation between Ethiopia and Rwanda brings together people at all levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe aspirations of African countries are very similar: prosperity for our people. The people of Rwanda and Ethiopia are very determined to achieve,\u201d President Kagame said. <\/p>\n<p>The Head of State further reiterated that for the two nations to achieve their desired development, they must learn from each other with a vision, put in place strategies on how to get where they want to be, and identify what they should do to get results.<\/p>\n<p>Ethiopian Premier Hailemariam Desalegn commended the Government of Rwanda for putting in place programmes meant to ensure enhanced citizen wellbeing. He described relations between Rwanda and Ethiopia as unique.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur relationship is unique and we want to nurture and expand it.
