This was revealed during a meeting between the Ministry of Education and its partners who noted that this year 2012 goals were achieved at 92%.<\/p>\n
MINEDUC managed to construct nearly 2,700 classrooms and 5,500 latrines and recruitment of 2,348 new teachers.<\/p>\n
There was 12% increase in the number of secondary students in public and government-aided schools.<\/p>\n
1 million textbooks and supplementary learning materials were distributed at secondary level and nearly 3 million textbooks were procured at primary level.<\/p>\n
382 School-Based Mentors have been recruited from across the region to support teachers in schools and a plan is now in place to roll out the scheme more comprehensively across all schools in Rwanda.<\/p>\n
Last month, Rwanda was awarded the Commonwealth Good Practice Award 2012 for his innovative fast-tracking strategies as part of the 9 Years Basic Education program. <\/p>\n
